In Case Of Fire
If you wake up and you can see or smell smoke:
- Roll out of bed.
- Stay low to the floor and crawl to the door. Smoke fills a room from the ceiling down.
- Test the door with the back of your hand.
- If the door is hot, go to another exit use your second way out.
- If the door is cool, open it slowly and go to your meeting place outside the home.
- Use your neighbor's phone and call for help (DIAL 911).
- NEVER go back in your home.

The purpose of the City's fire safety inspection
program is to eliminate hazards that contribute to the risk of fire or
injury in Rohnert Park. The goals of the annual Fire Safety Inspection
Program are to:
- Reduce the likelihood of fire emergencies and as a result, prevent the loss of property and personal injury.
- Contribute to the safety of citizens.
- Control the cost of fire suppression and other emergency responses.
- Increase the Fire Department's exposure to the public.

Hazardous Materials Response
Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety maintains a
Level Two Hazardous Materials Response Team. This team, consisting of
12 members of the department have personnel trained to Technician and
Specialist levels and respond with a mobile command vehicle and
completely equipped Hazardous Materials Response Trailer. |

Medical Aid responses in the City of Rohnert Park are
handled in a two pronged response plan. All Public Safety Department
personnel are trained to First Responder Medical Aid level. Advanced
Life Support and ambulance transport are provided by a private
contractor. In the event of an emergency a Public Safety Department -
Fire Division unit will be immediately dispatched and met by the Sonoma
Life Support unit on the scene. |

- Station One at Headquarters, 500 City Hall Dr.
is an "on call" station that is not staffed in a traditional
round-the-clock method. Personnel working in this building assigned to
other responsibilities staff a fire engine when an emergency occurs.
- Station Two at 5200 County Club Dr. near the intersection with Golf Course Dr. is staffed in a traditional fashion.
