The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Property
& Evidence Unit retains property collected from victims and
suspects, as well as lost and found items.
Property is released Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., by appointment only at:

Safe Keeping
Items will be retained for approximately 60 days until ownership is claimed.
Finders of Lost Property
After 30 days and prior to 90 days, contact the
Property Officer for information on how to claim found property. Please
note that weapons cannot be released.
P.C. 12028.5 Domestic Violence
If there is no domestic violence restraining order
involved, after 48 hours, but within 12 months, you may pick up any
weapons confiscated by calling for an appointment. It is a crime for
"Any person to obtain, receive, purchase, or otherwise acquire a
firearm, and knowing he or she is subject to a domestic violence
restraining order", P.C. 12021, P.C. 12076.1.
Evidence
Wait for 30 days, then contact the Property Officer for
release information. Items will be released 60 days after court
adjudication of the case. If a special circumstance or need is
involved, please contact the Property Officer for additional
information.
Crime Scene Investigation Processing
Although great care will be taken during chemical
processing of your property for the development of evidence, this
chemical processing may alter the condition of your property. If your
property has not been returned to you within 30 days, contact the
Property Officer for additional information.
