The Records Bureau is managed by the Lieutenant in
charge of Information Services. The Records Bureau component of the
Department of Public Safety is responsible for the retention,
maintenance, and dissemination of all Police and Fire records produced
by Department employees for law enforcement purposes only. The Records
Bureau is responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:
- After review and approval of the Patrol Sergeant, the receipt and
dissemination of all original reports produced by field Officers during
the course of their duties.
- Maintaining a numerical system for filing and retrieving reports.
- Security of records and proper dissemination of criminal
history records. Sealing, expungement, microfilming, and the purging of
records.
- Preparation and/or distribution of all criminal complaints,
subpoenas, subpoena duces tecum, traffic citations, and tracking and
billing false alarm calls.
- Release impounded vehicles.
- Provide front counter and telephone service to the community from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Monday through Friday.
Police Report Acquisition
Official Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety
police and fire reports may be obtained by appearing in person at the
Department of Public Safety at 500 City Hall Drive. Your request will
be reviewed, and if granted, a copy of the report will be mailed to
you. You may request a copy of the report by mail, however you must
send a copy of your driver's license, ID Card or other form of picture
ID for verification. If you are making your request by letter, please
be specific as to your reason for wanting the report, the name which
the report is filed under, the type of crime or incident, and the case
number if you have it.
The fee to obtain a police report (traffic
accident/crime report/incident reports/arrest reports) or fire report
is $10.00. If you are paying by check, make check payable to: City of
Rohnert Park.

Fingerprint Information
Applicant fingerprinting services are available to
Rohnert Park residents only by the Rohnert Park Dept. of Public Safety
as a community service. The cost and hours of operation are:

You Must Provide Valid Identification at the Time you are Fingerprinted
Valid Identification includes: California or out of state picture identification or driver license.
There is no appointment necessary, however, it's
important to remember that those who arrive first, will be served
first. Fingerprinting services are for applicants only.
