The Rohnert Park Building Department makes every effort possible to process plan reviews and building permit applications in a timely manner. For this purpose the Department has developed an internal processing time line to better serve our clientele, the citizens of Rohnert Park. The time line is the goal that the Building Department staff sets for itself to complete the initial plan review or approve the application. The chart below describes a number of the more common types of permit applications and their time lines.

Third Party Plan Check

While the City of Rohnert Park contracts with outside firms to provide plan review services, applicants are required to provide all of the required drawings and application documents directly to the Building Department. The Building Department will select the outside plan review firm and take responsibility for transporting the project documents. The Applicant does not contact the City's contract plan review firm unless the firm first initiates the communication.
