Business License Department
Needed:
- Completed application with full corporate information.
- A complete listing of the persons who will be soliciting in Rohnert Park.
- Non-Profit organizations will be required to submit
documentation from the Federal Government and/or State of California
(Franchise Tax Board) verifying tax exemption status. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Verification of corporate status does not qualify. This verification
must be made to the Business License Department every year to remain
eligible to conduct business in Rohnert Park.
Public Safety Department
A photo ID permit must be obtained at the Public Safety
Department, located at 500 City Hall Dr. The cost is $25.00 for
licensed businesses and free for certified non-profit organizations. A
Driver's License or similar photo ID must be presented and fingerprints
will be taken. The hours for Public Safety permit service is Monday
through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please phone 707 584-2650 for an
appointment.
The Public Safety Permit must be worn at all times
while soliciting!!!! YOU MAY NOT SOLICIT WHERE A SIGN, SUCH AS "NO
SOLICITORS" (OR SIMILAR SIGN) IS POSTED BY EITHER A CITIZEN ON HIS HOME
OR A BUSINESS. Citizens must not be harassed or intimidated in any
fashion. If we receive a complaint, you will be asked to leave and must
do so.
Child Labor Practices
Businesses, whether licensed or non-profit, who use
minors for soliciting must comply with all Federal and State laws
governing child labor.
All children under the age of 16 are required to have
proof of registration with the State Labor Commissioner in their
possession at all times while soliciting.
The following rules MUST be obeyed:
- Minors may not sell from any fixed location near or on any
Street or Freeway, or entrances to such areas (including entrances to
shopping areas).
- Minors must work as a team. A minor may not solicit alone.
- An adult must supervise (be near by and visible) minors who solicit.
- Minors must be returned to their home or a specific location for a rendezvous with parents at the end of each working day.
- Minors must be within 50 miles of their residence when soliciting.
- Hours of solicitation must not exceed time limits on permit. (Please note restrictions on attached form.)
