Enhancements to Rohnert Park Expressway - University District Development: Brookfield Homes

Contractors will continue performing utility and construction improvements on Rohnert Park Expressway between Snyder Lane and Petaluma Hill Road. Temporary traffic control measures will be in place.

The stretch of roadway along Rohnert Park Expressway between Kerry Road and Petaluma Hill Road remains a single lane road in each direction. Please stay in your designated lane.

Allow extra time for your travels and make alternate travel arrangements if possible.

2017 Road Preventive Maintenance Project

The 2017 Road Preventive Maintenance Project is underway. The City is performing preventive maintenance work on various streets during the next few weeks.

This Thursday and Friday (August 17-18): Chip seal to be applied at various courts in sections H & G and along Bodway Parkway from E. Cotati Ave. to Camino Colegio.

Monday, August 21: There will be asphalt repair work done in preparation for slurry seal process.

Tuesday – Friday, August 22-25: Expect slurry seal work to be done throughout the affected roadways. After the slurry seal, overcoat seal will be applied, follow the restriping of all the affected streets.

During these Maintenance activities residents affected will be asked to follow these instructions:
  • Your street may be closed unless flaggers are present to control traffic.
  • Please park and drive on adjacent streets not posted. Any vehicles parked within the posted areas during the no parking times may be towed at owner's expense per CVC Section 21367 - Failure to Obey Traffic Control and Devices at Construction Site - will be enforced on this project.
  • Please avoid driving, bicycle riding, or walking on sealed streets until new surface cures. Under normal weather conditions, your street will be reopened within 3 to 4 hours after seal coats are applied. Only Emergency Vehicles will be allowed through at any time.
  • Please do not permit water to run in gutters or on streets during this period. You may want to turn your sprinklers off for those dates.
  • Weather conditions or equipment breakdowns may cause schedule changes.

Background:
Many scientific studies indicate that preventive maintenance, such as Slurry Seal, keeps the roads from deteriorating, and are more cost effective and less time consuming than other strategies for maintaining roadways. Areas affected include neighborhoods in H and G sections of Rohnert Park. Residents affected will be receiving additional information from the contractor requesting that they not park their vehicles on the street during the maintenance activities. This inconvenience will be for a couple of days so we appreciate the cooperation of residents affected.

  • Avram Ave. to Santa Alicia Dr. to Seed Farm Dr.
  • Bodway Parkway from E. Cotati Ave. to Camino Colegio
  • Parts of Dorotea Circle from Country Club Dr. to Dexter Circle
