Federal Updates

Over the weekend, the federal government passed a new round of financial assistance. This emergency relief package of approximately $900 billion provides direct payments to households, refreshes loan programs for businesses and financial institutions, provides assistance to schools and local governments, renews government benefits that were about to expire and extends the moratorium on renter evictions through the end of January 2021.

Please see the attached PDF document for a complete breakdown of what's in the new Federal COVID-19 Emergency Relief Package:

Special Note for Local Businesses - new funds for PPP

The new COVID-19 relief package adds $284 billion to the Paycheck Protection Program. Get a head start on accessing these new funds by contacting your local financial institution or visit the Small Business Administrations Lender Match Tool, available here.

Reminder - California Grant Program opens Wednesday, December 30th

Last week we shared California's new $500 million Relief Grant for Small Businesses Program. Mark your calendars that the application for this program opens on Wednesday, December 30th. The program's website is already live and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) in Sonoma County are ready to assist you.

We're closely monitoring the new legislation and the State's grant program, and we will be sure to provide our residents and businesses with updates as all programs roll out in the coming days and weeks. Stay safe, make good choices and take care of one another.
