ROHNERT PARK – On 4/10/17 at approximately 11:30 PM, a Rohnert Park DPS officer was sitting in the Home Depot parking lot monitoring traffic on Redwood Drive.  The officer saw a dark green sedan turn out of the Burger King lot and head south on Redwood Drive in the northbound lanes.  Once the vehicle cleared the intersection, it veered back to the correct side of the roadway.

The officer activated his lights in an attempt to stop the driver. The sedan accelerated away from the officer rapidly.  The officer continued pursuing the driver at over 80 miles per hour with his lights and siren activated.  The driver continued south on Redwood Drive ultimately running the red light at Rohnert Park Expressway at over 60 miles per hour.  As the officer safely cleared the intersection, the vehicle was still accelerating away heading south on Redwood Drive.  The officer caught up to the driver when he made an abrupt right turn onto Portal Street in Cotati.  The driver continued down Portal Street at approximately 60 miles per hour.

The vehicle pulled into the driveway at the end of the cul-de-sac of Portal Street and the driver exited the car.  The driver began running away from the officer.  The officer was able to catch the driver who surrendered without incident.

As the officer was walking the subject to his car, he suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol based on his odor.  A road side test determined the driver was operating his vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .12%.  The legal limit in California is below a .08%.

The driver was identified as 30 year old, Robert Keillor, from Paradise CA.  A records check showed Keillor to be on probation in Sonoma County for drunk driving and having a suspended license.

Keillor was transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked for PC 148(A)(1) – Resisting Arrest, VC 23152(A) - DUI Alcohol, VC 23152(B) – DUI over .08%, PC 1203.2 – Violation of Probation, VC 2800.2(A) – Evading a Peace Officer.  The vehicle Keillor was driving was towed.

Keillor remains in custody without bail.
